MoneyGram supports the use of both Visa and MasterCard.
What payment methods can I use for sending money online?
We want you to have options when sending money. You can securely pay for online transfers using a credit* or debit card (Visa, MasterCard). Other online payment options may be available in your country. Please check our calculator for the methods available to you. *Your credit card company may charge a cash advance fee and interest charges.
What is a Bank Account payment?
A Bank Account payment allows you to send money directly from your U.S. checking or savings account without using a debit or credit card. With our 3-Day Standard ACH option, your payment is securely processed through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network.
How do Bank Account payments work?
When you reach the Payment Information section during your money transfer: You can choose a bank account already saved to your MoneyGram profile, or Select Add Bank Account to securely connect a new account through Plaid. Plaid will guide you through linking your bank account, and once complete, you’ll return to your MoneyGram Online session to review and confirm your transfer. A confirmation screen will show the status of your transaction.
How long does it take for a Bank Account payment to process?
Standard ACH payment typically takes 3 business days to clear. Your money transfer will be sent once your bank confirms the payment. While the transfer to your receiver will take at least 3 business days, Funds may be debited from your account sooner. Processing times may vary based on weekends, holidays, and your bank’s policies.
Are there any fees for using Bank Account payments?
Fees vary depending on your transfer amount, destination, and other factors. You’ll see the exact fee before confirming your transfer.
Why has my Online Bank Transfer failed?
Your transfer may have failed for a few reasons, including but not limited to: Insufficient funds in your bank account Transfer amount over the daily send limit imposed by your bank Bank network issues If you’re having trouble, please try adding funds to your bank account, contacting your bank regarding any send limits they may impose, or try sending again later.
