How can we help you?

Does MoneyGram have automated decision-making?

In some jurisdictions, we use automated systems as part of our Know Your Customer (KYC), identity verification, and financial crime compliance processes. These systems analyze information you provide and information obtained from trusted third-party sources to verify identity, assess risk, and meet our legal obligations (including anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist financing requirements). Some of these processes may involve solely automated decision-making, including profiling, where permitted by applicable law, which may produce legal or similarly significant effects, such as the acceptance, restriction, or refusal of our services. Our automated systems work by comparing the information and documents you provide with trusted data sources, checking for inconsistencies or risk indicators, and screening against fraud-prevention, sanctions, and anti-money-laundering criteria. Based on a combination of these factors, the system generates an automated outcome (for example, verification successful, additional checks required, or verification unsuccessful), which may result in acceptance, restriction, a request for further information, or refusal of service. These processes rely on predefined rules and statistical or machine-learning models that assess multiple factors together; no single element is determinative on its own. Where required by applicable law, you may have rights relating to automated decision-making, including the right to request human intervention, express your point of view or contest a decision.
